Cars haven’t gotten any simpler. In fact, it feels like we have more choices in cars and various options and technologies than ever before! Even something like a coupe used to be simple, a 2-door sporty car, right? While 2-door sporty cars are definitely still around, there are now more 4-door coupes, and they can even be of the SUV/Crossover variety.
Take BMW for example, what was once a question of 3 Series, 5 Series, 7 Series, has blown up to 2,3,4,5,7,8 and M’s, X’s, i’s and Z’s!
My job has revolved around understanding and deciding what items should be standard or optional, or what should be a different “trim” like on an XLE vs. a Limited, or on the Sport vs Luxury.
I’ve had the chance to drive and evaluate nearly every car under the sun at some point in time, trying to figure out, what are people going to like? What will they have trouble with? Does it match the intended function? I also have had to catalog differences in features – not all adaptive cruise controls are made equal and neither are massage seats for that matter.
As the resident “carsplainer” I’ve helped countless friends and family members find the right vehicle for them, helping them whittle through the endless sea of options, to find a vehicle that delivers exactly what they’re looking for. Sometimes it takes additional encouragement, but it’s always fun and great to help someone find something that they might not have known existed!
Please follow along and hopefully I can help you sift through the noise and learn something about a new car, or even something new about your own! We’ll be playing around with different mediums, and channels (YouTube? Instagram? TikTok?!). Thanks for joining us!
